Youth Programs Minimize

RCP's Teen Theater program gives the talented students of the Rockwall area an opportunity to rehearse and perform their own production each summer.  This program focuses on performance opportunities for young people, highlighting their unique style and energy, while preparing them for later community theater participation.  Many of our teens have gone on to perform in larger shows and bigger venues.  We regularly hear from past participants how their involvement in RCP shaped their performance skills and built lasting memories. Each year, RCP awards a scholarship to graduating seniors to further their education in the fine arts in college.  Camp Broadway After School Academy RCP believes the future of community theater depends on identifying, nurturing and developing the talents of children.  No matter what future endeavors children pursue, experience onstage prepares them for confident communication before a wide range of audiences.

ASA Mini-Productions and Children's Summer Musical: Every child deserves the chance to perform for an audience.  This unique program provides educational opportunities along with a stage performance for parents and community.  Perfect for the developing actor to experience the entire production process, including audition, rehearsal, stage movement, acting techniques, and the performance.  A mini production session is conducted one in the fall and one in the spring. Not quite ready for the limelight?  This venue also allows participation and valuable experience in the 'behind the scenes' activities for the future theatre buff.   The Children's Summer Musical production, takes future stars one step further through an actual auditions process.  Then onto learning songs, chorography and what it takes to produce a quality production through daily rehearsal and commitment.  The final result is a 6 performance ticketed production for the community to enjoy.

RCP CAMP BROADWAY Schedule Minimize
RCP CAMP BROADWAY MINI-PRODUCTION:
Each children's theatre mini production introduces students to theatre basics, as well as how to learn and produce a complete show!  Classes during the school year meet on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm for children grades 1st - 6th or ages up to and including 12 year olds.  The Spring Mini Production registration will be held February 2 at 4:30 and tuition is due at time of registration.  The children will rehearse and perform STRIKE OUT:   A comedy in six innings, this is a delightfully perceptive play about young America's favorite pastime-Little League. Set in the visitor's dugout, with monologues on the pitcher's mound and at home plate, the Angels brass out a real game against an imaginary team of powerhouse hitters. The result is frantic, funny and often touching, as the team discovers they have a lot to learn about themselves and the true spirit of baseball. The play offers challenges in mime, cheerleading, and accurate, realistic characterization.

RCP CAMP BROADWAY SUMMER MUSICAL PRODUCTION will have a daily rehearsal schedule set by the director.  A great way to get your child involved in theatre, develop confidence and hone improvisation skills.  The Summer 2012 production is CHARLOTTE'S WEB.

RCP ANGEL STAGE coming August 2012.  The two week workshop will be a theater experience for actors and actresses with special needs!  Watch for details.

These are tuition based programs and cost $150 per child.  Limited scholarships based on need are available.
